Liberia Pharmacy Board Staff Profiles

Pharmacist Doctor Dunah is currently the Registrar General and Chief Executive Officer of the Liberia Pharmacy Board, of the Republic of Liberia. He possesses a strong technical, managerial and operational skills and competency in regulating pharmacy education and the practice of pharmacy in Liberia.

Dr. Dunah is a Graduate of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists as a Fellow, Faculty of Public Health Pharmacy. At present, he is a Council Member of the West African Post Graduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP) and Member of the Drug Advisory Council of West Africa. He is a Past President (IPP) of the Pharmaceutical Society of Liberia and a former Country (Liberia) Representative to the West African Post Graduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP). He had held other high-profile jobs to include Technical Operations Manager at the National Drug Services of the Ministry of Health; Senior Logistics Adviser-Malaria, USAID DELIVER PROJECT Liberia; Country Director/ Chief of Party (COP), System for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (USAID-SIAPS) Liberia Project and Regional Director for Pharmacy Services, Ministry of Health, Republic of Liberia.

On Professional affiliation, Dr. Dunah is an Ordained Elder in the United Liberia Inland Church (an Evangelical Church) and he is the High Commissioner of the Noble Iceman Kingdom (a Humanitarian and Social Society).

Dr. J. Nathaniel B. Woart Sr is the Deputy Registrar at the Liberia Pharmacy Board, with a solid educational background, he holds a BSc in Biology from T.J.R College of Science and Technology at the University of Liberia, a BPharm from the College of Health Sciences, School of Pharmacy at the University of Liberia, and an MPH from Cuttington University Graduate School and Professional Studies in Monrovia, Liberia.

Dr. Woart has a Certificate in Public Sector Management (C.PSM) from the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA). His commitment to excellence led him to earn a PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) from the University of Benin in Nigeria, West Africa. His dedication to advancing the field is reflected in his membership in the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists, where he holds the designation of MPCPharm (Member) and FPCPharm (Fellow).

As Treasurer of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists, Liberia Chapter, Dr. Woart contributes significantly to the professional development of pharmacists in the region. His involvement extends to key committees, such as the National Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee and the Ministry of Health Regulatory Bodies Coordination Committee (RBCC) within the Republic of Liberia.

Dr. Woart's impactful leadership is evident in his past roles, including serving as the Chairman of the Liberia Pharmacy Board (LPB) and as the Coordinator of the Pharmaceutical Dispensing School in Monrovia, Liberia. Dr. Pharm. Jefferson Piah Harris is a distinguished professional with a rich background in pharmacy and regulatory affairs. He holds the esteemed position of former Vice President and Acting President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Liberia (PAL), a prominent fraternity encompassing all registered pharmacists in the Republic of Liberia.

Currently employed by the Liberia Pharmacy Board (LPB) within the Ministry of Health (MOH), Dr. Harris serves as the Pharmaceutical Inspector General. In this role, he plays a crucial part in upholding regulatory standards and ensuring the proper practice of pharmacy throughout Liberia.

Dr. Paye L. P. Torgon is the Director of Testing & Evaluation, he holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree. Dr. Torgon is a registered pharmacist (RPh), further emphasizing his dedication to meeting professional standards.

In pursuit of advanced knowledge and expertise, Dr. Torgon has earned a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, solidifying his position as a highly qualified and skilled practitioner in the pharmaceutical field. Currently serving as the Director of the Research and Drug Information Center at PBL (Organization abbreviation), Mr. Fologah is actively engaged in advancing pharmaceutical research and disseminating critical drug information.
